South China Endemic Birding/Photo Tour

International flight arrival in Guangzhou, then transfer to Nanling National Forest Park,stay over night in Nanling.

Main targets includes Cabot's Tragopan, White-necklaced Partridge, Tawny Fish Owl,Silver Pheasant, Chinese Bamboo Partridge, Grey-sided Scimitar Babbler,Huet's Fulvetta, Mandarin Duck, Scaly-sided Merganser, Grey-backed trush, etc.

Another day for the species that may still needed or just to improve the quality of the photos: Cabot's Tragopan, White-necklaced Partridge, Tawny Fish Owl, Silver Pheasant, Chinese Bamboo Partridge, Grey-sided Scimitar Babbler, Huet's Fulvetta, Mandarin Duck, Scaly-sided Merganser, Grey-backed trush, etc.

After a final morning, we will transfer back to Guangzhou，from where we will fly to Sanya airport, upon arrival, drive to Jianfengling National Forest Park，stay the next 3 nights here on the top of the mountain.

Very early in the morning, by walking distance, we can reach to the bird hides, Hainan Peacock-Pheasant and the Partridge are our priority here, we can try both the mornings and the afternoons at different hides during our 2 full days stay here. if we finish early, we can try some other birds includes Blue-rumped Pitta, Hainan Laughingthrush(Black-throated), Rufous-Cheeked Laughingthrush, Yellow-billed Nuthatch, Hainan Leaf Warbler, White-winged Magpie, spot-necked Babbler, Eyebrowed Wren-Babbler, Hainan Subspecies of Plain Flowerpecker, Green-billed Malkoha, Fork-tailed Sunbird, Lesser Yellownape, etc. For anyone who is also interested in night birding, can go for the Mountain Scops Owl, Collard Scops Owl and Brown Wood Owl.

Another day trying the Peacock-Pheasant and the Partridges, the do some general birding the rest of the day, Grey-headed Parrotbill, Grey-chinned, Scarlet Minivets, Orange-headed Thrush, Japanese robin, rufous-tailed Robin, Indo-Chinese Green Magpie, White-crowned Forktail, Harter's Leaf Warbler, Hainan Bule Flycatcher, Hill Bule Flycatcher, Large Scimitar Babbler, Huet's, Dusky Fulvetta, Ratchet-tailed Treepie, Grey Treepie, Greater Racket-tailed Drongo.

The last morning here, then transfer down the mountain and drive to Dongfang city in search of Black-faced Spoonbill, Purple swamphen, White-browed Crake, Slay-breasted Rail, White-faced Plover, Reach to Danzhou before dinner. After 20:00pm, we will start our night owling, Eastern Grass Owl, Barn Owl, Collard Scops Owl, Oriental Bay Owl, Brown Wood Owl, Asian Barred Owlet are all around this area.

Today, we will mainly focus on the shore birds here, we will do some general birding in the morning, waiting for the proper tide, then we go to the muddy flats for Black-faced Spoonbill, Spoon-billed Sandpiper, Nordmann's Greenshank, Curlew Sandpiper，White-faced Plover, Great Knot, Red Knot, Black-tailed, Bar-tailed Godwits, Chinese egret, etc. If we finish the shore birds early, then we can drive to Haikou for the flight to Nanning. If the tide is very late, we will have to spend another night here.

Drive to Haikou and catch the flight to Nanning, then transfer to Nonggang village. arrive there in the afternoon, birding around the village.

Early morning, we will be transferred to a hide by a local car for Nonggang Babbler, a star bird only can be seen here and the neighboring borders. besides the babbler, many other good species can easily be seen from many other hides, Blue-rumped Pitta, Indo-Chinese Green Magpie, White-winged Magpie, Black-throated Laughingthrush, etc, a nice walk along a little stream may yield Yellow-eyed Babbler, Chestnut-capped Babbler, Malaysian Night Heron, White-eared Night Heron, Limestone Leaf Warbler.

Another full day here, if we did very well on the first day, we can choose to go and visit the White-Headed Langur(Trachypithecus Leucocephalus), a beautiful leaf monkey lives in the nearby Karst Limestone mountains.

After a final morning, we will drive back to Nanning airport and depart for connecting international flights back home.
