Day 1: Beijing Botanical Garden → Yeyahu Lake (Yanqing)
- Morning (07:30–12:00): Beijing Botanical Garden (Haidian District)
- Target species: Beijing Babbler (near-endemic), Pere David’s Laughingthrush, Snowy-browed Nuthatch, Vinous-throated Parrotbill, Grey-capped Woodpecker, Yellow-billed Grosbeak
- Route: East Line (quiet, less crowded) → Cherry Valley (converge with West Line)
- Lunch (12:00–13:00): Local restaurant near the garden
- Afternoon (13:30–18:00): Yeyahu Lake (Wild Duck Lake, Yanqing; 1.5-hour drive from downtown)
