This tour combines three geographically and ecologically distinct regions in northern China—Beijing, Huozhou (Shanxi Province), and Northeast China—offering a diverse birdwatching experience that covers High Mountain specialists, endemic species, forest-dwelling birds, and migratory species. Tailored for both enthusiasts as well as listers, the trip focuses on seasonal highlights (especially June) and iconic species, with Huozhou serving as the core destination for observing the endemic and vulnerable Brown Eared-Pheasant.

Itinerary
This tour departs from Beijing, where we’ll seek out local avian species and seasonal birds alike. We’ll then take a high-speed train a few hours south for the Brown Eared-Pheasant, before heading to Northeast China – the highlight of our journey – where we’ll spend the majority of our time in search of migratory birds. These include several crane species,Oriental Stork, Swan Goose, and a host of some special species that are scarcely seen at their wintering grounds.
Arrival in Beijing, drive and birding around depend on the arrival time. Night at lingshan.

High speed train to Huozhou(4.5hrs), Birding at Huozhou area, Manchurian Bush Warbler,Willow Tit(Songar),Coal Tit, Southern Nutcracker,Elliot's Laughinthrush,Snowy-browed Nuthatch, Eurasian Nuthatch, Daurian Redstart,Eurasian Jay, Red-billed Blue-Magpie.Night at Home-stay nearby Birding site.
Brown Eared Pheasant,Red-billed Blue-magpie,Snowy-browed Nuthatch,Yellow-bellied Tit, Silver-throated Bushtit,Gray-headed Bullfinch. Night at Home-stay nearby Birding site.
Birding in the morning, in search of the Pheasant, then drive to Huozhou East Railway station, take the high-speed train back to Beijing. Night in Beijing.
Early morning flight from Beijing to Ulanhot airport, meeting with our driver/guide, drive 3 hrs to Ke Er Qin for Rufous-backed Bunting(Jankovski's), Mongolia lark, Asian Short-toed Lark, Amur Falocon, Pied Wheatear, Meadow Bunting, Daurian Jackdow, Daurian Partridge, Eurasion Eagle Owl, Little Owl,etc. Night in Ke Er Qin city.
Another morning to look for the rare Rufous-backed Bunting(Jankovski's) , then drive towards Xianghai National Wetland（3hrs）, stop on the way birding, Oriental Stork, Red-crowned Crane,White-naped Crane,Mongolia lark, Pallasis Sandgrouse, Daurian Partridge, Chinese Gray Shrike,Night at Xianghai Nature reserve or Baicheng city( Another 2.5 hrs drive).
Birding at Xianghai National Wetland in the morning, Oriental Stork, Red-crowned Crane,White-naped Crane, Pallas‘s Sandgrouse, Daurian Partridge, Chinese Gray Shrike，then drive to Qi Qi Ha Er( 4.5hrs) in the afternoon , night at Qiqi Haer, hotel nearby Zhalong Nature reserve or Qiqi haer city
Half day birding at Zhalong Nature Reserve, Oriental Stork, Red-crowned Crane,White-naped Crane,Band-bellied Crake, Yellow-breasted Bunting, Chinese Penduline-Tit，Schrenck's Bittern..Long drive to Hai La Er for (6 hours) ，night in Hai la er City.
Oriental Stork, Red-crowned Crane,White-naped Crane,Demoiselle Crane,Swan Goose,Red-necked Grebe,Pallas's Bunting,Pallas's Grasshoper,Ochre-rumped Bunting, Reed Parrotill, Bearded Reedling,Little Curlew,etc.
Drive to Wu er qi han city ( 2.5hrs, Poor road condition)，stop at a few wetlands on the way for possible wetlands birds, Tufted Duck,l Common Goldeneye, Common Merganser, Brown-cheeked Water rail,Band-bellied Crake, Swinhoe's Rail,Night at Wuerqihan.
2 full days birding around Wu er qi han: Hazel Grouse, Black Grouse, Siberian Jay, Greater,Lesser Spotted,Three-toed, white-backed, black woodpecker, Gray's Grasshopper Warbler, Pallas’s Grasshopper Warbler,Chinese Bush Warbler,Band-bellied Crake, Swinhoe's Rail,Brown-cheeked Water rail,Schrenck’Bittern，Great Gray Owl, Ural Owl, Euration Eagle Owl, Siberian Thrush, White-throated Rock thrush, Eye-browed Thrush, Siberian Rubythoat,Red-flanked Bluetail, Yellow-rumped, taiga flycatcher,Chances for Black-billed Capercallian .
Drive to Hailaer airport,flying back to Beijing airport, international flight back home.
